Quest for Conquest

In 1519, I went off to the Gulf of Mexico to explore the new land for Spain. There my army and I found a city called Tenochtitlan, and we were welcomed by the inhabitants of the area. We allied with groups that were tired of the oppression of a vicious group called the Aztecs. As we came to the area where the Aztecs inhabited, they greeted us with much honor. They believed that we were messengers of their god, Queztalcoatl, and gave us many gifts of gold and hospitality. Their leader, Moctezuma even gave us a palace while we were in the city. This gave us an easy way into the core of their empire. We took Moctezuma hostage and seized the city as a property of Spain. Many inhabitants tried to revolt, but shortly after their attempts, they were driven out of the city by my army. There was a war in the great city of Tenochtitlan, and I lost many men, but the Aztecan people had a drastic amount of people killed or dead. They were not immune to the diseases we brought and many of them experienced things like small pox. We conquered the Aztecs not just by our strength in war, but just our very presence ceased their existence. Our armies replaced their foolish pyramids, temples, and palaces with Spanish government buildings and churches for our Emperor Charles V. With the mighty power of Spain, we were able to conquer this so-called “mighty Aztec Empire” and claimed northern Mexico as Spanish control.

  3. You! What a traitor! Here I am, all the way from Germany, and I still hear much about your "conquering" and "accomplishments." What you did to the Aztecs was cruel and demeaning. Religion should be a voluntary association, but what you did was betray the ruler and kill off all the natives with some sick disease of yours. Then after they have gotten out of your way, you establish Spanish government buildings and churches. Leave their religion be!

  4. I hope you understand how inhumane and wanton you have to the people of my empire. The Aztecs did nothing to deserve the mallicious acts you have commited upon us. It was becuase of you, that the people of my empire turned their backs on me.
You use religion as an excuse to gain the trust and wealth of my people. We were already well of with Gods we worshipped and by brainwashing us into the teachings of Christianity, you believed you were being a good Christian.
That is not the fact becuase you have murdered numerous of innocent people that did not thing but worship you as their God and gave you the gold that you desired.

  5. Mr. Hernan Cortes, you are one very bad person. Even though you are doing this for your country, but you shouldn't be so harsh. What I mean is that you should kill human beings like the Aztecs. And, this is what you call conquering by killing human beings. Well that is a harsh way of saying conquering. Even though, every other civilization hated the Aztecs it doesn't mean that you have to side with them and kill the innocent Aztecs. On the other hand, the Aztecs didn't even do anything to you and your soldiers. So, what you did was wrong.

  6. Though you are a filthy Spaniard, I greatly admire your discipline in treating those savages. We Catholics need to show the world how stupid they are and show them the true way. Through our God-given powers, we shall conquer the Earth through our mighty God and dominate for we are chosen ones.

  7. I admire your trickery and deceit in the matter of conquering natives. Thanks for the inspiration, as many say that I, Francisco Pizaro, am like the second Cortes. It is a great honor to be compared to such a great man who knows what he wants and will do anything to acheive his goals.
